Ebert's fine review of SANTE SANGRE. I'd probably list this in my top five films ever, easily. Seeing it the first time was to see so many things suddenly intertwine and make sense. Jodorowsky's native facility with so many seemingly oppositional texts--Freud deconstruction-as-passion-play, classic Universal horror as holy writ--it's all so damned fluid, smartly mad and humane.
